Overall Progression Guide

The Critical First Week

The first week in Whiteout Survival is crucial for setting up your long-term success. Your main challenge is to balance saving resources for the Hall of Chief event while also progressing fast enough to avoid being kicked from your alliance.

Alliance Choice

  • Aim for the top alliance in your state. The first alliance offers significant benefits: active members, faster alliance help, better rewards from events like Crazy Joe, and higher alliance ranking rewards.
  • Consider the second alliance only if:
  • The first alliance’s Bear Trap event timing is very inconvenient for you (e.g., 3am in your timezone).
  • The second alliance is also very strong (e.g., highly competitive groups like Korean alliances that reach Furnace 30 within a week).
  • Why prioritize the top alliance?
  • More active members = faster alliance help and progression.
  • Higher chance of winning alliance events and rewards.
  • Better performance in events like Crazy Joe due to more participation.

Day 1: Starting Strong

  • Be as active as possible on your first day. Ideally, stay online for 5+ hours if you can.
  • Aim for at least 800k power before logging off for the first time. The higher, the better.
  • Leave your account online if possible, as being visibly active reduces your risk of being kicked.
  • Monitor your standing relative to other alliance members. Avoid being among the weakest to ensure you’re not targeted for removal.
  • Grind efficiently: Focus on main quests, building upgrades, and troop training to boost your power quickly.
  • Save most of your research for Hall of Chiefs. Do not start on Battle or Economy research trees early—these are the best ways to earn points during Hall of Chief. For Growth research, you can unlock the first Command Tactics and stop there; keep all other research at level one, except for Tooling Up (reducing construction time is important).
  • Reducing research time is not a priority for now, since you will delay most research until Hall of Chief begins.
  • Do not exceed 2 million power before Hall of Chief. This ensures you have enough upgrades and research saved to maximize your points during the event.
  • For more details, refer to the Hall of Chief section in the Events tab.

Staying active and competitive in your alliance during the first week sets the foundation for long-term growth and access to the best rewards and events.

Progression: Research, Troops, and Building

Worker Management

Efficient use of your two workers (from the Construction Pack or extra gems) is key to fast progression:

  • Always keep one worker on the Furnace or its required prerequisite building (usually the Embassy at higher levels). The other worker should be used for all other upgrades.
  • From Furnace 11 onwards, one worker will almost always be on either the Embassy or the Furnace. Refer to the Furnace requirements for the exact upgrade path.
  • Never have both workers on non-essential buildings (e.g., both on Marksman Camp and Lancer Camp). Always prioritize Furnace progression.
  • Example: If you just finished Furnace 12, immediately put one worker on Embassy 12. While Embassy 12 is upgrading, use the other worker to get Infantry Camp (or other required buildings) to 12, so there’s no delay when Embassy 12 finishes and you can start Furnace 13 right away.

Speedup Usage Tips

  • Use speedups strategically to avoid downtime. For example, if Embassy 12 will finish at 3am and you don’t want to wake up at that time, use a 3-hour speedup before you sleep at midnight so you can start Furnace 13 before going to bed.
  • The goal is to never have idle workers and to minimize any gap between finishing a requirement and starting the next Furnace upgrade.
  • If your extra construction queue (from a 2-day boost) is ending soon (e.g., in 10 minutes) but your Embassy upgrade still has 2 hours left, it’s better to use speedups to finish the Embassy early. This way, you can immediately start the next Furnace upgrade before your extra construction queue expires. Then, you can wait until the Furnace upgrade is done before buying another 2-day construction queue, maximizing the value of your boosts.

Efficient worker and speedup management ensures you progress as quickly as possible, keeping you competitive and maximizing your event rewards.
